LJIL marks 25 years
On Friday 30 March 2012, Leiden Journal of International Law celebrated its 25th anniversary at the annual meeting of the American Society of International Law (ASIL) in Washington DC.
The event featured a debate between James Stewart and Diane Marie Amman on the ‘end’ of modes of liability and another debate between Jaye Ellis and Lauri Malksöo on possible avenues to revive the concept of soft law.
Attracting a wide audience, the event marked the growing reputation of LJIL in US academia. The celebration coincided with the entry of LJIL in LexisNexis (first in the UK and subsequently in the USA) and precedes the award of the journal’s first Impact Factor later in 2012.
